A white kitchen with peninsula and naturalistic influences in an airy and light-filled space
We present an L-shaped kitchen project, or a kitchen with a peninsula, in a very airy and well-lighted space, with openings on two walls to the outdoor terrace.
Our discussions with the client prompted us to start the project from a kitchen configuration already featured within the space, present since the purchase of the house, kitchen furniture that the client decided to eliminate after a few years due to its inferior quality, yet very appreciated due to its form.
We like this project because, even if we did not make any major changes to the configuration, we worked with our client to delineate every detail – notice the rifled walnut material for the wall units, or the sink immersed in the peninsula countertop.
On the opposite side of the peninsula, the kitchen includes two columns to integrate the oven and use more storage space. Next to the columns, we added an area of open wooden shelves on a background with cladding made from the same material. This area which makes a wooden counterpoint to the dominant white is also used as a natural transition from the inside of the kitchen to the outside of the garden terrace.
