Luxury kitchen design is a study of ergonomics and aesthetics.
Ergonomics is the art of applying principles of human factor engineering in interior design for interactions and look. A simple example of designing furniture for functionality is the worktop island where the cooking area is connected to the washing area for accessibility.
Notice how the 12 mm stone top seems to “float” above the base units? It is an effect achieved by combining two angles that meet at 30 degrees, of the countertop profile versus the profile of the basic units, profiles equipped with a handle for opening the doors.
We must also mention that the front of the black columns is made of etched glass (chemical sandblasting in an acid bath). The etched glass has a silky and anti-fingerprint look, and the aluminum structure that supports the fronts provides exemplary strength.
The black columns open with pocket doors to reveal a bar area, and the open shelves balance the mono-block volumes for visual comfort.
