Lignum et lapis, wood and stone. A design recipe appreciated for thousands of years.
Wood and stone have always been revered for their practical and aesthetic properties. When we bring them together in a kitchen project, the elegance of the two becomes complementary.
We present the 3D renderings for a new kitchen project where the freedom of design came with a series of rigors and technical solutions. Although at first sight, the geometry seems simple, it is based on a subtle harmony perceived by the subconscious, the harmony of hidden symmetry.
The 2.40 m ceramic-clad island is geometrically aligned with the window on the left side to provide a visual perspective when working on the island. The length of the island is replicated in parallel with the wall units, delimited by the worktop and the wall cladding of the same material. The eye perceives visual peace in a frame of symmetry in translation.
The raised profile of the ceramic countertop (Duna profile) for the island works in harmony with the opening of the side fronts to remove the handle.
The bases of the wall furniture open up a dialogue between two materials – the ceramic similar to the island, as well as a stainless steel finish for the workspace designed for intense kitchen activities.
The columns hide a boiler on the left, a built-in refrigerator, including an area for appliances (oven, thermal drawer, and built-in automatic coffee machine) closed behind the pocket doors.
The light strips on the ceiling delimit the side of the glass units, while a suspended light body takes the foreground as a star element.
We did not include a wine cellar in this kitchen as it is located in the dining room adjacent to the kitchen, which to us always seems perfectly natural because it is located in the social center of the house, the dining area.

We worked with two finishes for the columns on this project so that we could evaluate the way they work together for each version – the first made of striped eucalyptus wood, the second one made of a gray technological material – Fenix Grigio London.
Composition materials:
- Worktop and wall cladding – Ceramic
- Island made entirely of ceramic on an aluminum frame
- Base fronts – Striped Eucalyptus (version 1) & Fenix Grigio London (version 2)
- Column fronts – Striped Eucalyptus (version 1) & Fenix Grigio London (version 2)
