In kitchen design, there is always a logic based on functionality and aesthetics.
We present a new MyKitchen project based on a series of subtle symmetries and alignments that are not noticeable at first glance, but are perceived subconsciously.
We worked with a rather generous space (35 sqm), with a height of 2.84 cm for the furniture and 3.10 m for the ceiling.
The hood as the “hearth of the home”
- In the center of the kitchen, we have a ribbed ceramic casing that masks the hood located above the induction hob.
- This element has the symbolic function of the “hearth of the house” and the whole concept is developed around the central hood.
- Notice the step transition between the columns, the side flank of the hood, and the showcases, a transition of geometrical volumes.
Fokos Sale ceramic is a star design element
- The top of the island is a profiled ceramic monobloc with a Duna-type frame from the Binova Bluna collection.
- We integrated the sink into the ceramic worktop so that the wall units blend in with the material and create a minimalist look.
- The ceramic for the hood is repeated as the worktop material for both wall and island units, for both vertical and horizontal surfaces.
Columns with top-down fronts that emphasize the height of the room
- For the columns on the right, we have 2 side-by-side Liebherr refrigerators integrated into the furniture, with full-height fronts, without super columns.
- This minor detail eliminates the presence of an additional line that would have separated the lower and upper fronts, thus emphasizing the height of the room.
Simple and efficient work flow
- We have designed a very efficient workspace, with simple and direct links between the food preparation area on the island, the cooking area at the hood and the adjacent oven, the washing area at the sink, and the serving area at the table snack.
Lights and perspectives
- We have placed open shelves under the showcases for quick access to kitchen accessories, as well as a visual perspective when sitting down at the snack table.
- The kitchen is a-light with LED wands in all central work points, drawers and showcases, and ceiling rails with adjustable spotlights have been installed to allow light points to be adjusted to any area of the kitchen.
Materials and design choices
- Left column and island fronts: Green “Fenix Commodoro”
- Hood fronts and countertops: “Fokos Sale” Laminam ceramic
- Wooden column fronts – Rovere Grigio London
- Snack table – Rovere Grigio London
- Reflex showcases with smoked glass
- Modules with shelves for accessories – “Life”
- “Champagne” hob
What was our approach for the project?
In kitchen design, there is always a logic based on functionality and aesthetics.
This kitchen configuration begins and ends with wood (see the columns), with intro and outro, as in music. We have a wooden bridge, represented by the snack table, and the chorus is made of ceramic alternating with the green Fenix.
The kitchen is perfectly aligned in terms of geometry and functions, but this mathematics are not visible at first, yet they are perceived at a subconscious level. When everything is in the right place, you will work simply and logically, which leaves room for creativity in the kitchen.
